(West Salem, WI) – Officials of LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway today have announced details of the 23rd annual Champions’ Banquet. The banquet will be held on Friday, January 22nd, at the Stoney Creek Inn’s Northwoods Conference Center, located in Onalaska, Wi.

“It’s a great time of the year to see all of our 2009 competitors, at the offseason’s mid-way point,” commented Director of Competition, Ray Loughan. “It’s a fun time because everyone can sit back and relax, not be in a hurry, or have to get their hands dirty while fixing their race cars,” concluded Loughan.

On the last day of Oktoberfest Race Weekend fans found their 40th Annual Oktoberfest Champion in 27 year old Travis Sauter.

(West Salem, WI – October 10, 2009) It was a cold night, but the grand stands were filled to see three exciting feature races. Steve Carlson walked away Saturday night with an ASA North feature win while Ross Kenseth took home both the Big-8 feature win and Championship. Paul Neisius also took home a win and Championship in the Mid-American series.

(West Salem, WI – October 9, 2009) Chris Weinkauf has tried for years to get a big win at the Oktoberfest Race Weekend. Tonight he finally breaks through to win the third annual Dick Trickle “99” on the second day of the 40th annual event.

(West Salem, WI – October 8, 2009) The air was cool but the racing was hot for the first night of the 40th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Multiple divisions were out racing including the La Crosse Sportsmen and Thunderstox divisions who were racing for a championship.

(West Salem, WI – September 5, 2009) The 2009 race season was one of J. Herbst’s best, with two feature wins and three top qualifying times. Saturday was icing on the cake when Herbst was declared the 2009 Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model Champion.

(West Salem, WI – August 29, 2009) The fans were on their feet as J. Herbst and Steve Carlson raced nose to tail for the last five laps of the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model feature. When the pair exited turn four Carlson eased his car up next to Herbst’s. Herbst held his ground and crossed the finish line first; a foot ahead of Carlson.

(West Salem, WI – August 22, 2009) Matthew Henderson of Coon Valley took home a feature win in the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model division Saturday night after narrowly avoiding multiple wrecks.
