Rain shortens LaCrosse program! By David Morgan

June 9, 2001;  West Salem, WI -  A brief shower after qualifying delayed the race program at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway on Saturday night. But it was the second shower, which appeared as fans watched the sun set to the west, that forced the cancellation of the remainder of the program.

Before the rains came, Corey Jankowski was quick timer for the Ray Hutson Chevrolet Sportsman drivers, clocking an 85.726 MPH lap, while Todd Lockington and Mike Albrecht, Jr. won qualifying heat races.

The United Auto Supply Thunderstox got their heat races in, and winners included Rob Curran, Joe Rinartz, John Olson and Dan Secor. 

Next week, be sure to bring the kids out to the track for Kids Night, and the 10,000 penny scramble. Your son or daughter could find the lucky penny, and take home a wad of cash. After the scramble, the NASCAR Late Models, Sportsman and Thunderstox drivers will be taking to the track for a night of hot racing action as the summer heats up.
