LaVerne Berg (#48) was the victor in the United Auto Supply Thunderstox feature contest.

Mike Belling jumped to the lead early in the Pischke Motors 25, but on lap 2, he slowed in turn two, and J. Herbst blew by into the lead. One lap later Mark Lamoreaux broke loose in turn one, spinning his 26 car, and collecting Jim Hagel, bill Niles, Kevin Eddy and Tom McClintock. McClintock took the brunt of the damage, as he ended up hitting the turn one wall hard. The second caution came just three laps later, as Adam Degenhardt sent Niles around in turn three, and Niles backed his Monte Carlo hard into the wall.

The yellow flew once more on lap ten, as Tony Bagstad and Blake Horstman bumped coming out of turn two, sending Bagstad into the wall, Horstman into the infield, and the rest of the field scrambling to get through. Bagstad and Horstman were in fourth and fifth at the time of the altercation.

Despite the quick restarts, Herbst was still able to pull out and dominate after each restart, with Todd Korish several car lengths back in second.

By lap 15, Brad Powell moved around Belling and into third, with Steve Holzhausen and Kevin Nuttleman following suit a lap later. The threesome then began to close the gap on the lead cars. Holzhausen got by Powell, and closed in on Korish in the final laps, but Herbst had built up a 4 second lead by that point, and cruised home to his first win of the season.
Korish held off Holzhausen for second, while Powell, Nuttleman and Belling followed. Todd Oliver, Brent Kirchner, John Towner and Greg Scheck rounded out the top ten.

Jeff Krueger got by Curt Eckleberg late to take the win in the B-Main, while the qualifying heat win went to Gib Scharpf. The Bud Dashes were won by J. Herbst and rookie Adam Degenhardt.

Jeff Baker, Mike Albrecht, Jr., and Sam Andersen opened up a big gap on the rest of the field with six laps remaining in the Ray Hutson Chevrolet feature, and when Andersen tried to get by Albrecht for third in the final four laps, Baker opened up a six-car advantage as he took the feature win.

Albrecht was able to hold off Andersen for second, while Chand Wehling and fast-timer Rick Shisler closed the gap to finish fourth and fifth. Jimmy Gilster, Tom Thill, Chris Skrede, Tony Ciano and Rick Steinhoff rounded out the top ten.
Randy Steinhoff got by Todd Lockington with four laps remaining to take the B-Main, while Rob Mahan dominated in taking the C-Main checkers. Rick Shisler was fast qualifier, with an average speed of 86.670 MPH. Non Qualifying heat wins went to Dan Linnehan and Mark Challet, qualifying heats went to Jes Tenner and Jordan Hess and the twin Bud Dashes went to Tony Ciano and Scott Beckler.

LaVerne Berg dominated the United Auto Supply Thunderstox feature early, but on lap five, Emily Sue Berg spun around heading into turn three, and three other cars spun in trying to avoid the spinning 58 car.

On the restart, Trent Tenner was right on Berg's bumper, as the top two cars pulled away from the field. Tenner ducked inside Berg on lap 11, but couldnt make the pass, as lapped traffic started to come into play. At the white flag, Tenner went to the outside, but again, Berg was able to hold him off for the win. Behind the lead pair, the battle for positions ended up tigher than usual, as six cars ended up smashed into the front stretch wall, inlcluding Nick Schroeder, Al Bartels, Tony Leis, Jason Schaller, Ron Heller and Shane Ulvestad.

Eugene Vian, Ryan Pfaff and Heller rounded out the top five.

Tuxedo Tony Leis advanced to the feature by winning the B-Main, and Scott Voss took the Bud Dash. Heat winners were Jason Schaller, Jerry Aylsworth, Adam Moore and LaVerne Berg.
