June 26, 2004;  West Salem, WI - Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model driver Charlie Menard drove through a wild 14 car accident on lap three, then charged to the front once the race restarted, to capture his third feature win of the season in the Clason Pontiac-Buick-GMC Feature Saturday night at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.   Menard, who started eighth, managed to keep his car clean when the car of J. Herbst spun right in front of him, starting the big accident.  The race was red flagged for 20 minutes as track officials cleared the damaged cars from the racing surface.   Fourteen cars were involved in the wreck, with ten unable to continue due to heavy damage.

Once the race resumed, Menard quickly asserted his dominance.  After restarting in fourth place, Menard to moved to third one lap later, then into second place on lap eight.  On lap 14, Menard moved his car to the inside of leader Mike Belling going into turn three, taking the lead for good.  Menard was able to sustain a considerable margain to the finish, widening his lead in the series standings.   belling finished second, followed by Steve Holzhausen, Adam Degenhardt and Tony Bagstad.

Andy Burgess continued to qualify fast, posting his third consective fast time with a lap of 20.056 seconds.  Burgess, however, was not able to capitalize on his fast time as he was one of the cars severely damaged in the lap three accident.  John Towner won the qualifying heat race, while Belling and Jim Hagel posted Bud Dash wins.  Andy Niles took the checkered flag in the B-Feature.

Randy Steinhoff started on the pole in the Ray Hutson Chevrolet feature race, and was able to lead every lap in taking the Clason Pontiac-Buick-GMC 15 Feature race. Steinhoff narrowly edged the car of Daniel Linnehan, who tried several times to make a pass for the lead.  Chand Wehling, Chris Skrede and Rick Shisler rounded out the top five. 

Tom Thill earned his second fast time of the season, with a time of 22.820 seconds.   Dan Erdman took the win in the B-Main.  Rob Curran and Rick Steinhoff took qualifying wins, while Larry Bolster, Jr. and John Olson took Bud Dash wins.

Adam Moore held off a charge from his brother Andy Moore to take the win in the United Auto Supply Thunderstox Feature.  Mary Schill, Matt Inglett and Andy Barney finished out the top five.  Greg Lindvig took the B-Main, Jason Schaller the C-Main, while Ed Senn took the Bud Dash win.  Heat race winners in the division were Joey Johnson, Justin Berg, Mary Schill and Josh Inglett.

Racing action continues next weekend, as the Speedway will host events both Friday and Saturday nights.  Friday night features the Hornet Division, School Bus Race, fireworks and much more.  The Saturday schedule includes the NASCAR Late Models, Sportsman and Thunderstox Divisions, plus a Recliner race and fireworks.
