A Night of Thrills Highlights The Eve of Destruction!

(West Salem, WI - September 10, 2005) -   The 13th Annual Eve of Destruction presented by Coca-Cola provided thrills, spills and fun for the capacity-crowd Saturday night at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.

The largest crowd of the season was at the Speedway to witness the thrills, spills, action and destruction Saturday night.

The Features Sports Bar & Grill Hornet Division showcased 1/4 mile talent, and Rick Schermerhorn of LaCrosse Was crowned the 2005 Champion by the night's end

On tap for the fans were highlights such as Monster Truck Mayhem, Trailer Race of Destruction, and the Green Mamba Jet Car. Also providing action was the United Auto Supply Thunderstox and the 2005 finale for the Features Sports Bar and Grill Hornet Division.

The Feature Sports Bar and Grill Hornet ran a full schedule the winners of the four Heat races were Cole Scolze, Nate Towner, and Heath Weissenberger.  Feature race winners included Ron Amann and Heath Weissenberger.  Twenty Hornet cars competed in their first Novelty Event at LaCrosse Speedway, the Flag Pole Race.  This unique and exciting race featured the cars turning a lap on the quarter mile track and then around a flag on the frontstretch, alternating for eight laps!

The Thunderstox drivers competed in a series of novelty events which included Second over the line Wins, won by Andy Moore and Chad Oehler.  Adam Moore and Andy Moore were the Double spin to win winners.  The infamous Trailer Race of Destruction featured over twenty entries, providing thrills and destruction for the thousands in attendance.

Also providing lots of destruction and entertainment for the fans were the Devastator and ‘Lil Miss Dangerous Too Monster Trucks, Spectacular Drags and the Green Mamba Jet Car.
