2005; West Salem, WI - A simple bump coming out of turn
four turned the frontstretch at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway into a royal mess, as
22 of the 24 cars starting the Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model feature were involved in the
melee. Kevin Nuttleman was one of those involved, spinning to avoid the carnage, but he
manged to finish Christen Farm Nursery night at the races by taking his 92nd career
victory at La Crosse.

On the first lap twenty two cars were involved in a terrific accident when
the car of Tom McClintock slightly bumped Jeff Baker in turn four. The bump started a
chain reaction of accidents sending at least one car airborne. In all, 22 of the 24 cars
in the field were involved in the accident that red-flagged the race for about 15 minutes
while crews cleared the debris from the track.
Once the track was cleared only thirteen out of the original twenty four
were in the restart. Nuttleman moved by Brent Kirchner for the lead on lap six, and held
the lead the rest of the way. Kirchner finished second, barely holding off a late charge
by Andy Burgess. Running a strong fourth was taken by McClintock, followed by Chris
Skrede, Todd Korish, Adam Degenhardt, Bill Niles, Troy Goodenough and Kraig Burrows.
Adam Degenhardt and Shawn Pfaff won heat races, while the twin Bud Dashes
went to Andy Burgess and Mark Lamoreaux. Kevin Nuttleman was fast timer at 98.382 MPH,
while Andy Niles took the win in the B-Feature, and was the last car on the track in the
feature, with very few body panels left after the wreck.
In The Ray Hutson Sportsman feature, Dan Gilster proved there is an
outside groove, moving up from fifth in the final five laps to take the lead. Gilster
chased down Randy Steinhoff for the win, with Mike Albrecht, Jr., Jimmy Gilster and Lucas
Korish rounding out the top five.
Dan Linnehan broke Jes Tenner's stranglehold on the fast qualifying spot,
averaging 88.386 MPH. Qualifying heats went to Jeff Winterfield and Jerrod Loging, while
Larry Bolster, Jr. and Randy Steinhoff won Bud Dashes. Chad Rosendahl claimed his
checkered flag by taking the B-Main win.
Jerry Aylsworth won the United Auto Supply Thunderstox feature, followed
by Jason Bolster, Jason Chandler, Brad Warthan, and Dan Erdmann. Heat winners were Jason
Chandler, Jerry Aylsworth, Charlie Vian, Jamie Dummer and Joey Johnson, while Adam Moore
won the Bud Dash. The C-Feature went to Rusty Winchel, while Mary Schill won the B-Main.
Sara Breitsprecher won the inagural Queen Bee race of the year.
This Saturday night, Pischke Motors presents the NASCAR Late Models,
Sportsman and Thunderstox action, along with the Daredevil Challenge T-Bone Crash.
Qualifying begins at 5:05 p.m., with the first race at 7:15.
