May 21,
2005; West Salem, WI - Andy Burgess moved to the lead
on lap eight, and came away with his second win of the season by holding off Kevin
Nuttleman down the stretch. While Burgess claimed the win, much of the attention went to
Ronnie Hawley, who hit the wall hard in a lap 12 accident on the frontstretch, and had to
be carefully removed from his car as the race was red flagged.

The Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Model feature race started with twenty four cars
running for the checkered flag. On the opening lap, Bill Niles and Curt Eckleberg touched
on the backstretch, with Eckleberg spinning to bring out the first caution. Mike Belling
led for the first seven laps, before Burgess moved by on the outside for the lead. Burgess
started to pull away from the field, but the second caution flew two laps later when Andy
Niles and Tim Nelson tangled, with Niles spinning to the infield.
On lap twelve the car of Ronnie Hawley hit the wall in turn four. He and
Mark Lamoreaux got together coming out of the turn, and Hawley's car slammed the
frontstretch wall. Ronnie was taken to the hospital to be checked out, and was released
later that night. The race was red flagged to allow safety crews to take all precautions
to safely remove Hawley from his car. Officials ran the Thunderstox feature while crews
attended to Hawley.
Top qualifier in the late models was Burgess who went on to win the
feature. It wasn't easy for him with Nuttleman coming up on the twenty second lap to
challenge for the flag. Coming in a strong third was Mike Belling, with Todd Korish
fourth, and Tony Bagstad rounding out the top five.

Lewis. The Bud Dash checkers went to Jimmy Gilster and Jes Tenner, while Dan Linnehan was
quickest in qualifying at 88.538 MPH.

Vinson. Chris took the lead with eleven laps to go in the race. He held off Adam Moore who
came in second just ahead of Jason Bolster in the third place finish. The fourth place was
taken by Jamie Dummer, with Jerry Aylsworth taking the fifth. place spot.

Schaller claimed the win in the C-Feature. Heat winners were Steve Owen, Chris Vinson,
