(West Salem, WI - August 12, 2006) - A hard fought battle for third place was enough for Bangor’s Steve Holzhausen to be declared the winner of Saturday night's USG - United Building Centers 25 lap feature. After a disqualification of both first place J. Herbst and second place Adam Degenhardt, Who where disqualified due to minor wheel base infractions after a post race inspection, third place finisher Holzhausen was awarded the win. "I hate to take a win away from anybody, but rules are rules,” Holzhausen said. “ They made the right call.”

After a second lap spin by Tim Nelson and another spin on the single file restart by Bill Niles it was all green flag racing the rest of the way. The green flag racing definitely didn’t make for lack of excitement with racers fighting for every position they could get. Points leader Kevin Nuttleman who started 10th worked his way through the field to finish 4th. Andy Burgess who was trailing Nuttleman by only five points coming into Saturday nights race finished 9th after starting 13th. Nuttleman’s 4th place finish opened his lead over Burgess by 19 points going into the final three weeks of racing at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.

Stoddard’s Chand Wehling took the win in the Ray Hutson Chevrolet Sportsmen Division Feature. A back and forth battle for the top ten kept the crowd on its feet, with a caution with just 2 laps to go when 3rd place Lucas Korish blew a tire. Points leader Jimmy Gilster dropped out of the race early due to brake and rear end problems, Dropping him from 1st to 3rd in the points standing trailing first place John Olson by only 3 points.

La Crosse's Matt Inglett won the United Auto Supply Thunderstox Division. An exciting spin across the finish line for third place by Shane Ulvestad of Holmen made for a great finish to the race. Adam Moore Leads Brother Andy Moore in the points standing with the top five being separated by only 60 points.
