By
John Regnet Jr.

(West Salem, WI - September 2, 2006) - Steve Carlson won the DODGE 100 Saturday night at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Carlson, who started 8th in the race, didn’t seem likely to win until after the halfway break at lap 50, but whatever he did to the car was exactly what it needed to become the fastest car on the track. Carlson, chasing down leader Charlie Menard, who seemed unbeatable at the half way point, motored down and passed leader Menard with about 35 laps to go. Charlie Menard finished 2nd, Mark Lamoreaux 3rd, Steve Holzhausen 4th, and Andy Burgess rounded out the top five.
